The Origin of Farfalle
Farfalle, also known as “butterflies,” is a ribbon-shaped pasta shape that is folded in the middle, resembling a butterfly. This distinctive pasta shape was created in Italy in the 16th century and is beloved for its elegant appearance and unique texture.
Over time, farfalle has become one of the most popular pasta shapes in the world due to its versatility. It pairs perfectly with a variety of sauces and ingredients, including tuna and mushrooms.
Tuna and Mushrooms - A Perfect Combination
Tuna and mushrooms are two ingredients that complement each other perfectly in farfalle. The tuna adds a rich flavor and a juicy texture, while the mushrooms bring an earthy note and a slightly crunchy consistency.
The combination of these two ingredients in farfalle creates an explosion of flavors and sensations in your mouth. The salty and slightly sweet taste of the tuna blends perfectly with the creamy texture of the mushrooms, and the farfalle is dressed in a delicious sauce, preserving its distinctive shape and offering an unforgettable culinary experience.

Buon appetito!

Ingredients:
60 grams Butter
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 onion
1 clove garlic
125 grams chopped mushrooms (or canned)
450 grams tuna in oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
100 ml cooking cream
1 tsp chopped parsley
salt, black pepper
350 grams Farfalle pasta

Preparation Method:
In a large frying pan, we will start by melting the butter together with the olive oil. We wait for it to heat up well, then add the finely chopped onion and garlic over medium heat. We let them fry until they turn golden and release a delicious aroma.
Now it is time to add the mushrooms and let them cook for about 10 minutes. They will release juices and gradually soften. After that, we add the cream to obtain a creamy sauce. We let it simmer slowly so that the sauce reduces and thickens.
While the sauce is boiling, we will add the tuna, which has been drained of the oil from the can, and the freshly chopped parsley. To give it a fresh and sour taste, we add the lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix well to combine all the flavors. Make sure that the sauce does not stick to the bottom of the pan, stirring continuously.
Meanwhile, in a large pot, bring water to a boil to cook the pasta. When the water has started to boil, add the salt and the farfalle (flyer-shaped pasta). Let them boil until they are ready, but we must respect the cooking time indicated on the pasta box to obtain an "al dente" consistency.
Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the previously prepared sauce. Mix well so that the pasta is completely covered with the delicious sauce. We can serve immediately and enjoy a savory and comforting meal.
Enjoy!
